Connecticut Climate Action

Background

ENE has been a leading proponent of energy reform and climate action in Connecticut since 1998, advocating for the creation of the Connecticut Energy Conservation and Load Management Fund to promote energy conservation, and the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, to further the development of clean power sources.

ENE published its Climate Change Roadmap for Connecticut  in 2003. The first of its kind, the report radically changed the state dialogue about climate change.  It showed how individual states could achieve deep reductions in greenhouse gases without waiting for the federal government to act.  Stakeholders in Connecticut relied extensively on ENE’s Roadmap during development and implementation off the state’s 2004 Act Concerning Climate Change. ENE was a leading participant in the development of state’s Climate Change Act.
