Energy

ENE helped pull together and coordinate a coalition of environmental advocates and utility and business representatives to develop a common energy reform platform for Massachusetts. The priorities of this platform were included in the Green Communities Act, which was signed into law in July 2008. As a member of the MA Energy Efficiency Advisory Council, ENE will play an important role in helping to implement the reforms embodied in the new bill. [Read more about Massachusetts Energy Reform]

Climate

The Global Warming Solutions Act sets enforceable limits on the emissions of greenhouse gases and gives the Patrick Administration the authority to regulate emissions across all sectors of the economy.  Specifically, the Act sets a cap on emissions of 80% below 1990 levels by 2050 and requires the administration to set interim caps, including a 2020 limit that is between 10% and 25% below 1990 levels. ENE is worked with stakeholders to develop a bill that would bring environmental and economic benefits to the state. [Read more about Massachusetts Climate Action]
