Federal Initiatives
The federal government appears ready to move ahead with changes to its climate and energy policy. As a primary environmental stakeholder in the regional RGGI cap and trade process and a lead advocate for recent groundbreaking energy policies, ENE is well positioned to bring experience and expertise from the northeast to the ongoing policy debates in Washington, D.C. ENE is working with regional delegates and other stakeholders to emphasize the opportunity to improve economic and environmental sustainability through policies that mirror and/or complement recent energy and climate reforms in the northeast.
Energy
ENE is working with New England delegates, business and utility groups, and other advocacy groups and stakeholders on the national level to advocate strategic and sufficient funding for energy efficiency, renewable energy and other climate policies in the federal stimulus package and federal energy legislation in order to bring jobs, energy independence, and sustainable energy policy to our region and beyond. Climate
ENE is bringing policy recommendations and lessons learned from RGGI and state energy and climate work to Washington, D.C. ENE materials, analyses and handouts outline critical elements of an effective policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sustainable energy and climate solutions derived from state and regional leadership that should be adopted and supported by successful federal climate and energy legislation.
